This year has been one of the most exciting and riveting NBA playoffs in recent history. I find myself watching nearly every game and marveling at how the best players in the world come together to form the beautiful chemistry of a team. The players display incredible athleticism which has made all them millionaires. And, along with their fame, comes a intense desire to show off, either through the tattoos they’ve gotten over the years or the jewelry they choose to wear. However, the one thing that particularly stands out to me is the crazy hairstyles worn by some of the players. Let’s take a look:
1. I want to start with Udonis Haslem(as seen below). Udonis missed the entire regular season with an injury and has just come back to play a vital role in the Miami Heat’s journey to the NBA Finals. Udonis has rocked cornrows for years but it seems that this season they have grown particularly long.
2. Ron Artest is the classic bad boy of the NBA, the next generation Dennis Rodman if you will. He has done some pretty crazy stuff in his career from fighting people in the stands to auctioning off his one and only NBA championship ring. But, over the past years he has done ridiculous things to his hair. Last year he dyed his hair blond and wrote words into it, and this year in a selfless act of team pride he got the Laker’s symbol etched into the back of his head. It takes all kinds.

3. James Harden is one of the coolest, young players in the NBA who has a swagger that’s undeniable. He is a prolific scorer and a huge energy boost when he comes in off the bench. And the crowd shows its appreciation for Harden’s facial hair by chanting “fear the beard!” In my opinion, his beard is both manly and groomed and he has a new haircut nearly every night to go with it. Oh, and by the way, his beard is consistently longer than his hair.
4. Joakim Noah has long been known for his wild, long, curly hair since winning two national championships at the University of Florida. In the NBA, he has become a premiere defensive player as well as crowd favorite due to his enthusiastic style of play. You would love to have Noah on your team but you hate his guts if you played against him. The best Noah photo I have ever seen was when he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls and he put on his new team hat and shook the NBA commissioner’s hand.
5. Last, but not least, is the beloved Chris Anderson. He probably has the most tattoos of anyone in the NBA. He also sports a intense Mohawk every game that looks like he spent years styling it. Anderson’s nickname is the “Bird Man” and you can tell me if you think he resembles that name. Here is a photo of him when he entered the league and also one of what he looks like now.
