When a Haircut is a Transformation
It’s taken 10 years and 8 movies (with ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2′ currently in theaters worldwide) for the Harry Potter movie franchise to reach its conclusion. With it ends Emma Watson’s portrayal of Hermione Granger. Watson made a splash in August of 2010 with a pixie cut that was a far cry from the famously long, curly hair of her Harry Potter character.
Watson chose the edgy ‘do once the “Hermione hairdressing” clause expired last year and she has since been chosen to represent Burberry and Lancôme and graces the cover of American Vogue. Her new look represents a fresh start now that her time as Hermione is at an end. A new hairstyle can also be significant of recent break-up. Miley Cyrus, blond at the 2007 American Music Awards darkened her hair a few months later right after breaking up with Nick Jonas.
Similarly, when Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe unexpectedly separated in October of 2006 Reese wowed the crowd of the 2007 Golder Globes with a chic new look.
