NBC Philadephia: Hair Cuttery Ambush Makeover

Kristen Jackson of Hair Cuttery (South Jersey) participated in an ambush hair makeover that was captured on video and featured on NBC Philadelphia. The ‘BEFORE‘ and ‘AFTER‘ results are stunning. Who wouldn’t want to head straight to a Hair Cuttery salon to update their style? If you’ve been inspired by this video, here is some advice for you before you embark on your quest in search of a fresh new look (from http://hairmakeover.org/):

If you have been styling your hair the same way for a very long time, a hair makeover change is not going to come easy to you. Instead of going completely different, go with something that is just an updated version of what you have.

When you go in for an appointment, let the Stylist know that you want something more modern, but you do not want a total change that is nothing like what you have now. A good hair stylist can come up with something that looks new while still having the same feel as what you have now. Don’t let them snip even once until you are sure you are okay with what they are going to do.

Going through books and magazines with hair styles is a great way to start out when you want a hair makeover. You can find styles of all lengths and styles that are all the rage right now, and a few that are definitely out of the ordinary. Look for a few things that you think might work for you, and then talk with your stylist about what you are looking for in a hair makeover. They can tell you which work best with your face shape and which are the easiest to recreate at home.

Don’t think of a hair makeover as something that is painful, but rather, something to make you feel better about yourself. Those suffering from depression often find that doing something like coloring their hair or whitening their teeth makes them feel better, so it stands to reason that a hair makeover is going to have the same jolt. The good feeling won’t last forever, but you are going to enjoy your new look just long enough to go in for yet another. Your old style may have worked well, but always assume there is something even better out there to suit you.
