In the last week or so we have received dozens of phone calls, emails and the occasional hand-written note from Social Service agencies all around the country. They all expressed their appreciation for Hair Cuttery’s commitment to helping the underprivileged youngsters they serve. These children come from families that are financially stretched due to the tough economy, and many of them are living in homeless shelters while they try to get back on their feet. They mentioned how excited these kids (and their parents) were to receive free haircuts so they could look fresh and “cool” when they started back to school.
For many of us, it’s hard to believe that something as basic as a haircut could be out of reach for so many kids, but with the help of Hair Cuttery’s Style Squad we got the message out. In the first two weeks of August, our clients rallied around our 12th annual Share a Haircut program and brought their kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews into Hair Cuttery salons to purchase their back to school haircuts, knowing that by doing so, they would help us provide free ones for needy kids in their community. Because of their support, this year’s Share a Haircut was the best ever — we were able to distribute 64,000 free haircut coupons (4,000 more than last year)! It’s great for our company to receive kudos from all those agencies but the recognition truly belongs to our wonderful Clients and Stylists for THEIR unwavering commitment to give back to the people in their communities!
