Our Florida winners for the “My Favorite Stylist” contest are: Kimberly Monfet from our Crossroads Marketplace salon in south Florida and Cicely Powell-Hodge from our Hunter’s Creek salon in north Florida. (And for an explanation of the judging, please go to our blog from April 25.)
SOUTH FLORIDA WINNER: Kimberly Monfet joined Hair Cuttery in July 2010 after working at several privately-owned salons. The mature 21-year-old stylist says that working at HC is refreshing. “I absolutely live, eat and breath doing hair,” Kimberly says, “and I LOVE working here!” She believes in WOW Service saying, “You have to stop and listen to your clients because they are always trying to tell you something. And, like my dad always says, ‘When you make someone happy, they make you happy.’” Kimberly says that people come to her when they’re not sure about what they want. “I listen very carefully to my clients,” she says, “and I try to give them not only what they want but what I think will work best for them.” Be sure to check out Kimberly’s personal Facebook page at MONFET-STYLE. Now, here’s what some of Kim’s clients had to say about her:
Even with the distance of a two-hour drive, I always look forward to arriving in Ms. Monfet’s chair. And that’s because she not only delivers superior results every time, she also has the energy and passion for her craft that few others seem to have. If I ever have any questions, Kim will take the time to explain (on my level) while keeping the integrity of my hair through the chemical process. And living in a small town hasn’t kept Kim from making a HUGE impact on everyone from high schoolers to elders. Can you tell that I’m a believer?

NORTH FLORIDA WINNER: Cicely Powell-Hodge has been with Hair Cuttery for nearly seven years. Cicely, who considers herself an artist at heart, is also a certified Redken color specialist and a member of the Style Squad. Says Cicely, “I like to make people smile and feel good about themselves. And the key to providing clients with what they want is listening. You have to be open and eager to please your clients.” We asked why clients continue to come to her, Cicely replies, “My clients come to me when they want color extensions or crazy colors in their hair, when they want to jazz things up, when they want something edgy.” Check out a sampling of her work at “Cicely’s Artistry” on Facebook. Now, here are a few of her clients talking about what they like about Cicely:I have never left a salon completely satisfied until I met Cicely! I even flew from New Jersey to Florida once just to get my hair cut by her. Quite simply–she is the best!
