I just read an online beauty newsletter recently that asserted women under 40 looked younger if they were thin. Women over 40, however, actually looked younger carrying a few extra pounds. Apparently the fat helps fill in wrinkles on the face, leading to a younger appearance. This was great news to me so you can guess which camp I'm in.
While my plump, youthful face may appear young, the gray in my hair has the opposite effect. Two co-workers standing above me at my desk the other day were apparently conferring silently about my grays. Finally one of them said, "Can I just pluck this one?" Clearly, it's time to head to my Alexandria Hair Cuttery for a touch up. The last time I went to the hair salon to get a special occasion style, the Stylist, whom I've known for years, kindly said, "What's going on up here?"
I've gotten highlights from Hair Cuttery enough in the past to know the hairstylists can make me look fabulous, do it quickly in under two hours and it's a price I can afford. Plus they recommend styling products that preserve the color for a long time. So this week, I have started collecting photos to show them the caramel blonde, full head highlights I want. I'm a brunette so I pulled photos of Julia Roberts, JLo and of course, Jennifer Aniston. I'll post a photo here after I get my hair makeover and see what you think!
