We deal with hair night and day. But how much to we really know about hair? The following hair facts may surprise you:

Hair is the second fastest growing tissue in the body, just behind bone marrow;
The average scalp has 100,000 individual hairs--Redheads have the least with 80,000; brown and black-haired people have about 100,000; while blondes have the most with about 120,000;
90% of scalp hairs are growing while 10% are at rest;
It is normal to lose about 100 hairs per day from the scalp;
You must lose over 50% of your scalp hairs before it is apparent to anyone;
Hair covers the whole body, with the exception of the soles of your feet, the palms of your hands, your mucuous membranes and your lips;
The lifespan of a human hair is between 3 and 7 years;
Female hair grows more slowly than male hair;
Male hair is more dense than female hair;
Humidity stretches hair;
Combing is less detrimental than brushing;
Correct shampooing will not dry out your hair;
Frequent washing does not increase loss of hair;
And lastly, hair grows faster in warm weather.
